MrBeast & the Promise of Prosperity

This is a separate piece from the first article about MrBeast. Reading the previous one will help, but you don’t have to do it to appreciate what I’m going to share here. I’ll keep it brief…

MrBeast runs the most successful YouTube channel in the world.. Part of the reason for this, I believe, is the fact that he gives away everything he makes. Most of the money that comes into his channel he sows right back into people and projects. This produces an insane amount of multiplication in his life (on top of successful business ventures he has started).

Recently, Amazon approached MrBeast to do a game show called Beast Games. It has the largest grand prize in entertainment history – $5,000,000! A thousand people compete for this prize and in the show one emerges who stands out from the rest. His name is Jeremy and he is an obvious believer in Jesus.  At one point, he is given the opportunity to take $1,000,000 dollars in order to eliminate 50 other people from the competition and he chooses not to do this, declaring that money is not important as honesty and relationship (three other people on the show pass this up as well). Soon after this, there is a competition where all the contestants are given gold coins and must choose one person to give them to. This person will safely make it to the next round and choose only a small group of people to go with him. Instantly, the vast majority of people choose Jeremy (though some have an obvious hatred for him and call him a cult leader). Jeremy gets on his knees in the middle of the show and begins asking for the Holy Spirit to come and fill people even as he asks for wisdom on who to choose.

I’m passing over a lot of details of what happened, but this summary is true. In the biggest game show in history, a Christian stands out with incredible favor as people bring all their gold coins to him!

Prophetic Implications

When writing the cover article, I didn’t even think to include this note about MrBeast’s game show. But when I remembered this story of Jeremy, I knew I needed to add this into the February issue of Elisha’s Riddle. There are promises of great prosperity that center around this season we are in and I believe this was a sign and wonder of that promise coming to pass. Great favor and increased wealth is coming to people who want to steward that wealth for the right purposes – not to make money, but to see a harvest of sons and daughters coming into the Kingdom.

With that, I want to acknowledge what I always share when speaking about prosperity. When the Bible promises “gold and silver” coming into the house of God (see Haggai 2), it is primarily about the divine gold and redemptive silver of human beings brought back into their true family in Christ. Any prosperity that comes our way is meant to be a greater blessing to the world around us. Let our hearts be postured and ready for all of this! AMEN!

And one final note… In the cover article I connected the name “MrBeast” with the number 666. There is such an interesting story that connects to this in the Old Testament. In the book of 2 Kings we find the number 666 mysteriously showing up. During the successful part of Solomon’s reign, the scriptures tell us that every year “666 talents of gold” came into Solomon’s kingdom.

Instead of being a scary number, this scene with 666 is a picture of a promise concerning Jesus’s kingdom. It shows mankind (who has made himself “god”) surrendering and coming into their true home in the Kingdom of Jesus. I believe MrBeast’s record-breaking game show showing a Christian being given gold from the people around him is a true testament to this thing unfolding in our own day and age.
