Our Collective Identity in Christ

Who are we?!
I’ve been reflecting on our Identity in Christ, and how it’s sometimes used to justify a subtle self-righteous separation from all who are not yet “in Christ” (a false perception).
I know it well, since it’s exactly what I’ve done… For most of my life I considered myself an insider, blessed by God, and in another category than those heathen unbelievers who remained under His furious gaze.
But then I discovered that the *entire* creation was created In Christ (see Colossians 1), such that what happened to Him in his death, burial, and resurrection happened to all of humanity. In Him ALL THINGS consist. Every breath and every atom is sustained by Christ.
What?@?@!?!
My thoughts started revolving around our collective “Identity in Christ,” rather than individual. From this place, WE (i.e. those who recognize our Identity) act as instruments of God’s peace, absorbing the collective evil/darkness of the world and taking it into ourselves without vengeance or retaliation, as Jesus did and Christ-in-us does.
This is how we participate in the “holiness” of the Divine Flow, which is simply a description of the life They share with humanity – with the intention of revealing to us who we Truly Are.
By collectively absorbing and transforming this darkness (our own, and that of others), we are helping to bring out the Reality of Christ in our day to day spheres of influence, even in the midst of chaos.
This version of Identity produces a “tenacious solidarity” (Hebrew translation of God’s steadfast love) with ALL of humanity, because of how closely Christ is integrated into the breath and existence of each person. He is the sustaining influence that holds the multiverse together, and is creatively drawing it towards a point where Love eventually consumes all that is not true.
No us/them. Just us, all of us, image-bearers of the Divine on a journey of discovering our True Selves – hidden with Christ in God.
We join Him in helping others discover their True Identity, moving the Grand Story forward with great hope and joy, as we know that the Love of Christ bears/hopes/endures all things and…
LOVE *never* fails.
Never ever ever never.
