This month we look at a few important signs of Jubilee redemption that is slowly taking place around us . . .

The Supreme Court, Woodstock, and the Feast of Trumpets

Right at the start of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, a vacancy in the Supreme Court opened up with the passing of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, allowing for a big shift in the direction of America’s judicial system. Interestingly, this holiday in the Bible is called the Feast of Trumpets, and it is believed that it was given to commemorate the trumpet blasts at Mount Sinai when the “Law” was delivered to the Hebrew people. It marked a huge shift for their nation.

In August of last year (2019), we mentioned in a New Bus article the 50th anniversary of Woodstock, and the significance of the number 50 as a symbol for Jubilee and restoration. We declared that ungodly things that were released during the late 60s counter-cultural movement would now begin to be redeemed and restored. One sign of this was the subsequent release of Kayne West’s album “Jesus is King,” a blatant musical celebration of Jesus Christ from one of the most prominent figures in the mainstream music industry.

We believe there is a reversal happening, which will continue to touch music and the arts, but it will also reach into the very laws and governing structures that came out of the 1960s thought progression. One of the massive societal shifts that came on the heels of Woodstock was the legalization of abortion only a few years later. This new vacancy in the Supreme Court will now open the door — for the first time in nearly 50 years — for this “law” to be reversed. We celebrate this and pray for continued Jubilee redemption to strike our land.

Lauren Daigle’s Billboard Record

Another incredible sign of redemption in the world of music and art…This month, Lauren Daigle’s song “You Say” broke the record for longest running “hit song” on a specific Billboard chart (over 100 weeks). Lyrics from this song include the statement, “In You I find my identity.” It is a blatant call to find our identity in Christ, which makes its record-breaking milestone unbelievably beautiful. Be assured, the message of our true identity in God is going to sweep the world and this is only one small fruit of an impending harvest of awakening.
