Some enlightening words from our friend David Burgess.
All our anxiety and frustration can be
summed up, simply, in two words:
Misplaced expectations.
In trying to find our belonging and
acceptance through each other…
we’ve garnered nothing but anguish.
Think about it:
All depression depends on one thing:
We’re broken by the way other people see us.
Guess what? In the quiet, all alone,
they are, too;
Must be a lie-
Must not hold any actual weight or credibility,
if it leaves the whole world codependent on
the next person’s (our neighbor’s) blindness…
Seriously. Be real/be raw with me;
C’mon — This is fire!
We got these expectations we’re only made to place on ONE being-
His name is Jesus.
You get free from your own projections
(by realizing that you already are/
are sitting in an open cell/
that any thought that violates your heart
isn’t even coming from it)…
you’re free.
That’s the freest place to be:
I’m so free from `me’ (that is, the false perception of some “me” that exists as a separate, insatiable vacuum), I’m free from `you’-
That “you” being your own projection of the same/you buying into the lie of `self’.
Why do you think Jesus said “deny it (yourself)”?
It isn’t a real thing-
We’re fountains, made to overflow our immeasurable worth through all the earth;
We say, “know your worth” as if it’s at the cost of another’s, when, if we really knew it…when you really know it… it’s nothing but a heart-cry FOR, which looks and feels totally different than one at the expense:
It’s life-giving….
How do you think Jesus was able to sleep in the bottom of the boat, completely in peace?
Because He was Jesus? …
There’s no way you or I could follow that example if that were the case, and that makes Jesus the most unChristlike jerk for calling us to something we’re unable to do.
He’s not…
We’re able to effortlessly embody the same
because He’s not just `God in [a hu]man’, but the very unveiling of the mirror Image of what God looks like *IN* man:
“Cast your cares upon Me”;
What’s He sayin?
“Live from Acceptance.”
Is that not all “our cares”?
We’ve lived all our lives, our Identity wrapped around our most intimate list:
Wives, husbands; daughters, sons.
Believing we need everyone else to be a certain way in order for us to be ok;
But where’s the power in that?
How is that Love?
If any other person’s disposition is set up to displace yours…
how in HEAVEN does that have any basis in reality?
I’m not bein mean, I’m simply sayin,
it doesn’t, so that sets us free-
Free to be in complete Christ-all clear clarity~
