Jesus Christ is the Guardian of our Galaxy. Peter tells us that he keeps us safe from all attacks. Do you feel attacked sometimes? You can trust that you have a personal Guardian who is fighting for you in the Galaxies above and in the details of your life.
His power controls the biggest stars in the universe. He has the strength to force oceans in different directions. Nothing can touch Him. He defeated satan, sin and death. He lives to Guard us against all the fiery darts of the evil one.
Here’s one secret about our Guardian: He is having a good time protecting your soul. Just like Star-Lord listening to The Jackson 5, blasting his foes, Jesus Christ gets great enjoyment out of defeating the enemies in your life.
God says this, “I will rejoice in doing them good.” (Jeremiah 32:41) Every day He is doing new good things in your life and He is having a blast with it. Jumping around from Galaxy to Galaxy with a smile on His face and a song in His heart.
“He will rejoice over you with gladness; He will exult over you with loud singing.” (Zephaniah 3:17) He literally has a celebratory soundtrack that is playing in the background while He lives to fight for you. The massive spirit beings of heaven sing songs of wild joy and victory while He demolishes every weapon formed against you.
And He’s an intimate Guardian. He knows your name. Loves your name. Knows all your favorite songs. Knows your favorite snacks. Knows your daily needs and always makes sure they are completely taken care of. He is funny. He sits down and counts how many hairs you have on your head just for fun.
And He loves to take you up into the Galaxy with Him. “And raised us up with Him and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.” (Ephesians 2:6) He takes you soaring. High above all your problems and He shows you that they have no power over you.
He seats you in the heavens on a special seat of supernatural power. It’s glowing with fire and gold. There’s rainbows and water that shoots forth from you. There’s a rush of wind stronger than a 1000 hurricanes that comes from your mouth.
Jesus Christ, the Guardian of your Galaxy. He won the war of the whole universe at the Cross of Power. All the enemies of the universe came and conspired together to kill Him. They sucked the life out of you and held you down in spiritual slavery.
But “He who sits in the heavens laughs.” (Psalm 2:4) He joyfully took all of these enemies into His hand and crushed them with His mighty Blade of Glory. He left them dead forever and set us free from our helpless state. He now lives to be your Guardian. He shields you always. Nothing can conquer Him. You belong to Him. You can always feel safe in this Galaxy because Jesus Christ, your Guardian, is here.
