A Display of Father’s Glory

Editor’s Note: This article was written by Kathleen Cavanaugh in December of 2019. It came up recently in conversation and we felt impressed to re-release it for this particular season. There is SO MUCH glory in this article. Take it in slowly . . .

A couple of days before winter storm “Ezekiel” hit the northeast earlier this December, I was looking with wonder at blown-up pictures of snowflakes on the internet. As I beheld with awe, the beautiful yet microscopic, intricate, unique designs our Father Creator God fashioned in each snowflake, I felt overwhelmed by his creative beauty.

I noticed one theme: There are six points in each snowflake! I asked ‘Why, Lord’? And instantly I got it! I received a glimpse of a Father so crazy in love, obsessed with his children, uniquely creating one after another frosted design with 6 and 6 and another 6 points. (Six is the number of man—God created his crowning glory of mankind on the 6th day of creation). I saw one that had twelve points. A ‘verily, verily’ or a ‘double-edge’ snowflake! Ha!

I shared this revelation at our church’s early morning worship service, the House of Wine, which was on December 1. The next day, we get this snowfall bomb of the year!

The featured image of this article especially preaches the gospel of mankind’s inclusion in the Trinity. Each of the six formations are decorated with three crown-like figures. Does anyone else see the message of union here? WOW!

“For to the snow He says, ’Fall on the earth’” Job 37:6a

“From the breath of God, ice is made” Job 37:10a

The heavens are declaring the glory of God . . . and the Glory of God is declaring, “Christ in you is the hope of Glory!”

This message of union is the only message! As Christmas approaches, and some celebrate Advent in various ways, let us open wide our hearts that the King of Glory may be so welcomed to live abundantly through our hearts! He has cleansed us! He has washed us and made us white as snow! You are glorious in Christ!

As we believe and embrace the truth about who we are, according to Christ’s work, we discover more and more that we are pure, spotless, blameless, justified, sanctified, and glorified! Nothing depends on how you feel, think, see, or act. We simply awaken to the truth and agree with God, and as our awareness is lifted up, beholding the face of Christ within, we see the truth of who we are. We are standing in Christ’s righteousness! This is grace . . .  and it comes wrapped in faith! Simply believe and receive! Since it is the Lord’s doing and it is marvelous in our sight, his Holy Spirit will bring forth fruit and abundant fruit that remains! Abundant and everlasting is God’s signature.

Doesn’t it boggle your mind meditating on how many unique snowflakes he created just thinking about you? These are little love-notes from heaven!

While shoveling the heavy weighty snow from your driveway and scraping ice from your windshield, let the glorious message on Father’s snowflake design overshadow any annoyance that might want to interrupt your joy and gratitude party! In every snowflake he fashioned, he sent a love-picture to you! You are his pride and joy!

A side note: I believe our Father sees the number “666” quite differently than what is presented in many religious, fear-driven messages that discuss this number (see Rev. 13:18). The number of man tripled across the forehead represents the mind of man independent of Christ. Its placement on the right hand represents a religious works mentality that exalts self-effort and opposes grace . . . which is truly anti-Christ. This mindset is what keeps people from buying the bread and wine of grace that are purchased without money and without cost (Isaiah 55:1). Thankfully, we have the mind of Christ! Father wants us to awaken to the reality there is only one true Spirit—His! (See Ephesians 4:1-3)

Beloved, you have nothing to fear. Abide in the True Vine and know you have the mind of Christ. Believe you are as white as snow glistening in the noonday sun . . . because you are. Everything manifests according to what we believe. Take time to meditate and worship with Jesus, Father, and Holy Spirit during this season! Your greatest gift is already yours . . . you are an heir of God and a joint-heir with Jesus Christ! What? Yes! (Check out Romans 8:17)

Have a wonderful season celebrating your united life in Christ, delight of your heavenly Father, as we dance together in His Holy Spirit!
